Overview

Bitget EU filed a MiCAR authorisation application with Austria’s FMA on 17 June 2026 from its Vienna headquarters. The application is under assessment. An application is not an authorisation — only an entry in the ESMA register confirms a granted licence, and Bitget has none as of 27 August 2026.

What EEA users were told

Bitget’s own support documentation states it will provide crypto-asset services in the EU only once authorisation is granted and all regulatory steps are complete. An application is not an authorisation. Only an entry in the ESMA register confirms a granted licence.

Until an authorisation is granted and appears on the register, MiCA client-asset protections do not apply.
